Drupal is a free open source content management system.  It allows you to fully customize the appearance and function of your site using a framework that makes adding features and content management easy.
It also has a blogging software and forum software built into it, so there's no need to have to add additional modules or components to have these features as part of your website.

GETTING STARTED

Drupal downloads are in tar.gz format, which is a Linux archive format.  In order to extract it, you will need some sort of archiving software.  I recommend using 7zip due to the fact it's also a free open source download and a very powerful and handy archiving software, but you can use other programs if you prefer as long as they can handle this format.

You can download 7zip from www.7-zip.org.

Next you need to download Drupal.  This tutorial is using Drupal 6.13, which can be downloaded from:

http://drupal.org/drupal-6.13

Once you've got that done, you can proceed on installing Drupal:

!!REMEMBER: Support Forums!!

I still keep getting requests for support in the comments of posts and unfortunately I cannot give adequate responses due to the fact there's limited space and it just isn't the right place for support.
I therefore am encouraging visitors to PLEASE go to http://forum.myownserver.info for any support related questions. You will NOT receive any spam or anything you don't specifically subscribe to! I'm very meticulous about this myself and if at any time you need help stopping notifications from posts you previously subscribed to, contact me and I will promptly fix the issue.

Thank you for your participation in this!
