This tutorial shows how to transfer, move, import, export, and backup your MySQL databases using phpMyAdmin. I've used XAMPP in this tutorial, but the same method applies when using paid hosting such as Godaddy.
I also show how to adjust your configuration file with the new settings necessary for your software to connect with the new MySQL database and function again.
So if you've been searching for a good and thourough tutorial to help you get your php website transferred and running on another server or how to backup your MySQL databases so they are compatible across various versions of MySQL Database servers, then you've come to the right place.
This is a video tutorial and unless requested, I won't be adding a written tutorial.
The video looks fine and I think it's exactly what I've been looking for. Unfortunately I can't hear the voice over. Are there any subtitles or do you have a printable version of the instructions?
Hey Peter, Thanks for the heads up on the audio not working! Unfortunately I don't know where the original video file is, so I can't re-upload it. I had that issue with some of the uploads when I moved them from hosting them myself to blip.tv. For whatever reason the audio wouldn't work on some, but when I re-uploaded them, it was fine. Unfortunately I didn't catch this one.
It is a really straight-forward process though and I think just watching it will be close enough for ya. I explained some of the options and what they mean in the audio, but if you follow the options I chose, you should be fine.

!!REMEMBER: Support Forums!!
I still keep getting requests for support in the comments of posts and unfortunately I cannot give adequate responses due to the fact there's limited space and it just isn't the right place for support.
I therefore am encouraging visitors to PLEASE go to http://forum.myownserver.info for any support related questions. You will NOT receive any spam or anything you don't specifically subscribe to! I'm very meticulous about this myself and if at any time you need help stopping notifications from posts you previously subscribed to, contact me and I will promptly fix the issue.
